What is spider web and why does it happen on my vehicle You might wonder? Spider web on your vehicle can be seen when light is refracted through the clear coat at a certain angle. Imperfections like spider webbing, light scratches, are typically the result of a clear coat losing its lubricating capabilities. A deeply dried out clear coat can be marred by even the softest microfiber towel, especially if it is contaminated with debris or rub the wrong way. In the picture on the left, you will see the before where there is spiderweb and the clear coat looks very dull. This is because it is dry. (Oxidized)
